...The guy to call when you are tired of worrying about getting clients

Two great tools; video and voiceover for websites

Written by admin on May 13th, 2009

I would like to thank two excellent guys for helping me “up my game”; by giving me what I consider two great tools to increase my visitors experince when visiting my coaching client portal/website at www.byscoachremi.com. Please go there after reading this post to check out their work!

The voicover – with music is created (the copy)  and read and produced and converted by Ray Petty – his website is: http://www.southwestvoicestore.com . He is cocky enough to offer his services for FREE – and you pay him after – and only if – you’re happy with the results. I give him my recommendation. As you can see at the www.byscoachremi.com website, I embedded his audio in a small player at the top of the website, to avoid annoying my repeat visitors..

And also – do check out Lou Bortone’s video at the same page. Lou is an internet video pro – check him out at http://www.theonlinevideoguy.com/portal.html The video is called “Reject the Recession” – and I also put it in here on my previous post, to make it easier. I have uploaded it to both Youtube and Exposureroom (better quality) – and I welcome any help spreading the video: linking, embedding, downloading and resending in any way you see fit. As a Norwegian, my culture is slightly different than most of my US and International visitors – so I would be gratefull to recieve you feedback on these two items. Especially I am uncertain of whether music backgound on Ray’s voicover is a good thing – or not.

So;  what du you think??

Motivational video: Reject the Recession

Lou Bortone, my favourite web wideo wiz has created this video, to give some positive input on recession-depressed people. It’s a commercial, sure, but my hope is that it will be passed around by people liking the way it made them feel. Please feel free to spend 2 minutes watching it – and also use it the way you see fit; download it, link to it, embed it on your blog/website etc. And please post your comments & feedback!

Is it possible to create a money printing machine on the Internet?

Written by admin on April 30th, 2009

Welcome to my brand-new experiment I’m going to check out whether it’s possible to easily create a moneymaking machine. The aim is to create something that generates income without me having to do anything. In order to achieve that I need someone to buy product, and I also need someone to perform marketing.

For this experiment I have chosen affiliate marketing. I have researched and found the company that pays out 50% to the seller. I have gained access to their statistics and learned what product they have that has the highest conversion rate. According to the stats the conversion rate is 1 to 19! If this number is real I think is awesome. I’ve only research products that will earn me more than 50 pounds or $60 per sale. I’ve looked at how easy it will be to sell the product, and I have chosen a strategy to only market products that offer free samples. As a Norwegian my main market is in Norway so it is important that the supplier ships to Norway. The text however does not need to be Norwegian is most Norwegians read English without any difficulties.

I’ve done a lot of advertising on the Internet but almost never found anything that has given any significant return on investment. The only thing that has really made any money is Google. So far I have mainly used Google Adwords. For this experiment I will use Google for content. The reason is that the competition is tougher and tougher. Currently I pay almost 5 times more than I used to pay for the same kewords for only 2 1/2 years ago.

I register my domains with GoDaddy, because it costs only $7.45. The supplier actually takes care of hosting for free. Right now my project is ready to go. The website is up, and I just have to add Google for content to start making money. Stay tuned because I will keep you updated with both revenue and add costs for the next 60 days.

The product I chose is called Provillion, and I gave my website an Norwegian name it is www.sikreprodukter.com which means safeproducts.com.

Feel free to comment and or participate in any way you choose. Use the comments box under the article or e-mail me at Remi@RemiMarents.com.

Thanks for reading and I hope that I have inspired you to maybe try this for yourself in the near future of the best from Remi Marents.

Two new websites

Written by BYS Coach Remi Marents on April 4th, 2009

I’m half-way through Cara Lumens’s course on writing called “Article Magnetism”, and I realized two things; I have a not-so-common view on free coaching sessions as a way of screening potential clients – and my home country Norway does not have a free article submission service. This prompts me to set up two new webpages; http://www.freecoachingsession.info will have articles on that subject, and possibly be a free meetingplace for coaches and clients in the near future. The first few days I’ll use the domain for testing my article submission software. When testing is complete – I will transfer it to the new domain http://www.artikkelbanken.no which will be the permanent domain for Norway’s first article submission service.

During this process, I thanked my writing mentor Cara for her inspiration, and she responded with an endorsement that I am proud to display:

“Remi is a man of vision and action. While participating in my Article Magnetism course he recognized a new place to be in service – providing an article bank for his country of Norway like we have in the US.  Within 24 hours he set up www.artikkelbanken.no (which translates to “The Article Bank”) and is now making articles from all over the world available to entrepreneurs and business owners in Norway. Remi is truly a man of vision.  If you are ready to take your business to a deeper level of service come work with him.  He will inspire you to new levels of achievement. “

Free coaching sessions – how to choose your ultimate business coach

Written by BYS Coach Remi Marents on April 3rd, 2009

For almost 15 years I have taught hundreds of coaches and therapists that have studied with me: “Never give away free sessions – because coaching or therapy that’s given away for free is worthless” I felt really good saying it, and not one single one of them ever objected. Last year I changed my mind – and this article is showing why it is a good idea.

The secret of choosing right

Do a quick Google search for the word “Coach” – and you’ll get around 146 million hits. Really. So how do you choose which person that should be trusted with your money, time and possibly influence your future self as a person – and professionally? I suggest two methods:

1.       Use your network.

Your network has probably experience with business coaches – listen to their experiences, and write down the apparent success criteria that they have in common. Use these to guide you when talking to prospective coaches. Be cocky – you deserve the best match possible!

2.       Take a test drive

I do not know about you, but when I spend about 100.000 on a new car, I take it for a test drive. Choosing the right coach will influence your future economy and more importantly how you feel about yourself and your work – a lot more than the value of a car. So please, do not buy coaching services the way you buy lottery tickets.

How you can spot the CONMAN

Successful coaches love their work. They only work with clients that share their values, which they learn from; they enjoy the company of their clients. They do not work with everyone with a pulse and a checkbook. If they did, they would experience burnout in a short time. So a mark of a great coach is that he or she will screen you. They will ask questions, and they will have a personal conversation with you. Not to sell – but to find out whether you are right for them. And they will probably not charge you for this screening.

The price is right

Let me be honest. Most of my clients choose me to help them make as much money as possible without sacrificing their family lives and personal values. This includes selling their services at the highest price their market will by them at. They rightfully believe that their coach can teach them how to do this – and double or triple their income. So –what are the chances that their coach shares this desire for maximizing profits – quite big, yes? This leads to the simple reasoning that your coach should be able to get a high, but fair price (compared to the value you get from him or her). Any coach charging below USD 100 per session is surely cheap – but think of the traits you want to adopt regarding pricing your services – is CHEAP really what you’ll go for? I think not. On the other hand, well known “gurus” like Tony Robbins and Seth Godin can charge insane amounts – without even coming close delivering. These guys charge in the thousands of dollars – and this means you will not afford to do enough sessions to assess, evaluate, design, implement and evaluate your process. I have personally worked with Tony Robbins, and I had him refund me my money. If you’re interested in their hyped standard solutions, my advice is to spend 20 bucks on their book.

What have you learned ?

I wrote this article after two horrible coaching experiences – and I realized that I needed to be better at picking the right coach for myself.  So this article started as my personal how-to… I hope that you have gotten a few pointers on how to pick a coach that is right for you. And I hope that you avoid a few of the errors I made. And if you’re a coach yourself, I have doble hopes for you… Good luck in your adventures!

How to maximize your coaching sessions

Written by admin on April 3rd, 2009

This article is covering how you as the client can benefit the most of your coaching sessions. It is written based upon my personal coaching experience with more than 15.000 1:1 coaching sessions in the last few years.

So, you are one of the few professional people actually  realizing how important it is to get the most out of your company’s biggest asset – you. You have decided on a coach – either through research, through referrals, through previous experience – or by pure coincidence. If you are like most people, the coach’s fees are higher than your own salary – so it’s really important that you get a lot of “bang for the buck”. Right? So here’s what you need to do:

Invade your coach

Or at least his or hers time. This means – be prepared for your sessions – and also claim your coach’s focus by doing the following: be sure to email your coach at least the following:

1.     What have I accomplished since our last call?

2.     What did I not get done that I intended to?

3.     The challenges and problems I am facing now

4.     What I want my coach to help me with during this call

5.     Next steps to take as a result of this call

 Squeeze your coach

Or at least get the minutes you’re paying for. When doing in-person sessions, my clients need to wait in the reception area, they need to be walked into my office, they get coffee, they hang their clothes, they get out their pens and notebooks, they start their voice recorders, and we have at least two minutes with social talk. In total, my in-person clients spend about 10% of their time with me on this. I find that when doing Skype Video or phone sessions, this dynamic is different. On a Skype session, it’s right down to business. It is more time effective, and if you are like me, and prefer to see the person you’re talking with, use Skype Video is free and with excellent quality. Also, Skype has an add-on called Pamela that records both audio and video.

Be a Trekkie

Or move like one. Did you know that you can be present anywhere on the planet in a split second? It’s called a telephone.  By taking the step up from in-person to phone or Skype Video – an amazing thing happens: The time you actually spend on your coaching sessions will magically be reduced by 50-75% in most cases!  In addition to saving travel expenses and being more environmentally conscious – I assume that you would love the idea to dedicate the saved travel time into doing the tasks that you are creating with your coach. In my experience, clients often have trouble dedicating enough time from their busy lives to implement the stuff we’re agreeing on. So my tip is to take the time saved on travel – and invest in yourself.

Here’s the freebie: Michael Port on Personal Branding

Welcome to my new blog!

Written by admin on October 12th, 2008

Hi, you just landed on my new blog at www.remimarents.com. It’s main purpose is to give information on my coaching as a Certified Book Yourself Solid Coach.

I have been a coach for 8 years now, and I have had close to 15000 sessions in 1-on-1 and group formats. When I came across Michael Port, I was amazed. Up until then I had not been able to figure out why certain parts of my business was boomin’ beyond my wildest dreams just 5 yers ago – and why some of my services were not in demand at all.

I read the book, a lightbulb went on in my head, and two days later I got an invite from Michael to join in a select program to be one of his coaches. I jumped at it, and not even 10 minutes later I had to tell my wife I was leaving her for a week to go learn this amazing coaching system.

So now I have transformed the part of my coaching business which was dull, abstract and very difficult to explain – to a razor-sharp tool that has the potential to rock the world of any service professional.

Being the trainer of hundreds of therapists and coaches, I have chosen to focus on a niche that I know a lot about; I help newly certified coaches and therapists become booked solid like I am.

Please click on the “7 great ways to do it” link in the meny to se an overview of what programs I am so exited about – and feel free to take me up on the limited offer where I pay your fee so you can test out my brand new and super effective Coaching Interactive website !
